Sabine hills: the silence of the countryside interrupted only by the chirping of birds, a dog’s bark, the steady treading of hooves, the gurgling river beside the path, the chit-chat among the riders, the beautiful landscape, the falcons observing you from above, the gallops at break-neck speed……
It’s what I do almost every Sunday to get the energy for a week full of stress, obligations, smog, chaos, crowdedness, noise and closed spaces. I would be more than happy if you started to come along to enjoy this wonderful experience!!!The tour will be organized by my friend Daniele who lives out in Fara in Sabina/Passo Corese (about an hour north-east of the center of Rome) and keeps his and his friends’ horses in the stables close to his house. He will take us on a 3,5h riding tour through hills and fields, rivers and villages. Seeing as we will go in a very small group (6-8 people max., him and me included) he will be able to take good care of each and every one of you and if necessary will explain the basics of horseback riding to you before departure and help you improve your riding skills during the tour. So even if you have never ridden a horse before, don’t worry, I have taken loads of my friends (none of them riders) and they had a blast!! If you don’t feel comfortable trotting or galloping on your first tour, Daniele will stay behind with you while more experienced riders are welcome to come with me and race through the landscape on their steeds :-)

By train: Trains to Fara Sabina are leaving from the train stations Roma Trastevere (11.54), Roma Ostiense (11.58), Roma Tuscolana (12.06), Roma Tiburtina (12.15) and Roma Nomentana.(12.21). Let’s meet up at Roma Ostiense, directly on the platform. I’ll be the girl in the riding boots and breeches :-)
If you want to get on the train at a different station please let me know so I can look for you and tell you where we are!!
By car: Meet us in front of the train station Fara Sabina-Monte Libretti (exit Via XXIV Maggio) at 12.52 when our train arrives. Daniele will also expect us there and lead us to the stables.
Costs:
Euro 35,00 for the 3,5h riding tour, everything included. Payment is directly to Daniele.
Note:
Availability is very limited (2 horses for beginners + 2 horses for intermediate/expert riders) so PLEASE ONLY BOOK IF YOU ARE SURE YOU ARE COMING!!! In case you can’t make it for some unforeseeable reason, please let me know so another person can take your place!!!IN CASE OF RAIN THE TOUR UNFORTUNATELY WILL HAVE TO BE CANCELLED.
