Tax and all things legal for a Brit working here

I am English...I have been here for 2 months and as of yet have done nothing! I don't have a residenzia, I don't have a bank account, I haven't told the police I am here, I haven't registered with the HMRC that I am no longer in the UK, my boss has still not given me a contract, he wants to set me up with a Partita Iva which I have been advised is a total nightmare, especially as I don't actually know how long I will stay here.Is there anyone who has been through all of this and might be able to offer me some advice? Help!
